Orange–Net–Work Drawings
Orange–Net–Work is a project where I explore historical links between Japan and Australia during the Pacific War of 1941 to 1949. A series of frottages with graphite and related black and white negative images layer naval and civilian clothing onto sounding maps of the Seto Inland Sea in Japan and Sydney Harbour. Thirty-five of these images were joined together to create five scrolls.
These were exhibited as part of Hands Across the Pacific, curated by Ian Howard for the Ningbo Art Museum, Ningbo, China.
