Blue Edges
Blue Edges comprised five sculptures made with annealed wire, paint and metal. I thought of them as three dimensional tapestries, made by stitching sections of perforated sheet metal with threads of annealed wire.
I painted the walls of the exhibition space a vivid saturated blue. The works were clustered together on the floor and lit with powerful spotlights that cast dramatic shadows onto the floor and walls.
Blue Edges was exhibited at the Postgraduate Degree exhibition at Sydney College of the Arts in 1990.
